AES has two book awards, organizes panels for the annual AAA meetings, and helps organize a spring conference for AES members.

AAA Sessions

The American Ethnological Society sponsors several invited sessions at the annual AAA meetings. An AES councilor serves as program chair and collaborates with other sub-sections to select submitted panels as invited sessions.

Spring Conference

The American Ethnological Society hosts an annual spring conference, typically co-organized with another sub-section (e.g., CASCA, SANA, etc.). The conference organizers jointly develop a broad and pertinent theme in order to inspire and organize panel and individual paper submissions.
